I tried. Really, I did. But I could not come up with anything cute or clever to do for April Fools Day!
You see, there is nothing foolish about the giveaway I want to share with you today. It is simply wonderful! ONE LUCKY READER will be the envy of us all.
You probably have a copy of the Family Proclamation on a wall somewhere in your home. Imagine having this in your home. This Family Proclamation carving, made with precision carving tools and finished by hand, is worthy of being a focal point in the room where your family loves to gather together.
Tiana and Jake are owners of LDS HOME DECOR. Tiana contacted me through email. Here are a portion of her words:
“My name is Tiana and a link to your site was actually sent to me by a friend who doesn't homeschool her children. I'm so glad she did. I can't wait to explore and learn from your site. I have seven children from three years old up to a sophomore at USU. This is my third year of homeschooling.”
“My first time on your website, the article on the home page was on the Family Proclamation as a tool in educating our children. Here I present to you my husband's creation. And if you think that's cool, wait til you see the Declaration of Independence.”
I must say her husband’s creation is breathtaking! After learning more about Tiana and Jake, and viewing their products, I thought I’d go out on a limb for our readers. Yes, I actually asked them if they would provide A Proclamation To The World Carving as a giveaway. Well, they said “yes!” Aren’t you glad I'm thinking of you?
If you visit the product page for The Family - A Proclamation To The World Wood Carving, you can view images of the various wood stains offered, and you can also view some up-close photographs of the carving detail. IF you are the winner of this giveaway, you will be able to choose the staining you prefer. The Proclamation will then be shipped to your home.
Here are the details of what you will receive if you are the winner: One winner will receive a very impressive hardwood carving of "The Family: A Proclamation to the World". It measures 2 ft x 3 ft tall. The one with a stonewash finish is carved in beechwood. The mixture of applied glazes gives it an aged look with sage green tones. They also have a natural black-walnut carving with white lettering which seems to be quite popular. Other options are natural cherry, or natural maple. Each of the carvings with a natural finish shows the beautiful wood grains and colorings that are unique to each species. They send them out ready to hang on a wall.
The layout on their Family Proclamation carvings are exactly like ones put out by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints found here. They are carved using a precision carving tool. Each piece being slightly different in grain and coloring because they start off with natural hard wood and then finish each one by hand.
Here is how you can enter: Share this giveaway with someone. You may share through Facebook, on your blog, through email, or even by calling a friend. As you can see, this wonderful giveaway would be enjoyed by any LDS family, not just a homeschooling one.
My thought is that if we can share the news about our blog Latter-day Homeschooling with LDS families whether homeschooling or not, we would increase the awareness of the LDS homeschooling community and hopefully encourage others to consider homeschooling.
Once you’ve shared our blog giveaway with someone, please leave us your contact information in the comments. There is no need to leave an url or anything like that. Good Luck!
Note: This giveaway sign-up will run through the month of April. The winner will be announced in the 1st week of May and the winner will have 1 week (seven days) to claim the giveaway - So be sure and leave a way for us to contact you.
